阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。

Nature is the greatest teacher in nursery schools (幼儿园) of Scandinavia.

All across Scandinavia small children are running wild! You can find them running through grassland, with dirt on their faces and small bags on their backs. You can also find them playing in small rivers or climbing up trees. In Northern European countries, nature nursery schools are growing in popularity (becoming popular) because research shows that these “nature” children are better in many ways than the children in normal nursery schools.

Although there are different themes in different schools, nature nursery schools are most often built in a forest. A forest gives the perfect chance for a child to develop a healthy body. The forest also offers many learning chances. Children can run around as much as they want and shout as loudly as they can. Children can use their bodies to the full, climbing, swinging, carrying and jumping. What’s more, the forest is filled with playthings: a stick can be a horse to ride or be used to direct traffic. Imagination can run wild through the trees.

For these children, the world is full of life: rabbits and monkeys, wild flowers and green plants. What better way could there be to learn about animals, plants and the changing of the seasons? What better way to teach children about the world and protect the environment?

Most often, such nursery schools are "green". They buy environmentally-friendly products, and work with the idea of environmental sustainability(可持续性), such as energy-saving. In giving children a chance to develop a meaningful, friendly and responsible relationship with the natural world, it must be a regular daily practice for them to touch the earth, to hear birdsong, to collect berries and mushrooms and get to know animals and plants. In wind, rain, snow and shine, let the children run wild!

51. The second paragraph mainly talks about the ____________.

A. history of nature nursery schools B. popularity of nature nursery schools

C. location of nature nursery schools D. importance of nature nursery schools

52. We know from the passage that nature nursery schools_________.

A. ask children to stay inside when the weather is bad.

B. encourage children to protect the environment.

C. are usually painted green.

D. all have the same theme.

53. What’s the writer’s attitude to nature nursery school?

A. Doubtful B. Worried C. Satisfied

D. Calm

B

Did you know that a bowl of rice could save your iPod if you drop it in a swimming pool by accident? Or that the camera on your phone could tell you what’s wrong with your TV remote

control? The experts at Geek Squad have made a gadget (小机件) rescue guide. So, let’s take a look at some of their useful advice.

♦ How to get more juice out of your phone battery (电池)

If your battery goes dead but you need to get a number or send one last text, try warming it up. That may give you a tiny bit of power. Take the battery from the phone and rub it between your hands. Then try to start the phone but use it quickly. ♦ What to do if your gadget gets wet

First, try drying it out with a vacuum cleaner (真空吸尘器). If a vacuum cleaner isn’t at hand, fill a pot or bowl with uncooked rice and put your wet gadget inside. The dry, uncooked rice will absorb all the water and, after a few hours, you should be able to use the gadget. Don’t forget to remove the battery and SIM card before you dry it. ♦ What to do if your TV remote control stops working?

Get the camera function up on your phone and point the remote at the lens (镜头). When you press a button on the remote, if it is working, the glass bobble (小球) at the front of the remote will light up when you look at it on the screen of your phone. This is because the screen on a phone or digital camera picks up infrared rays (红外线), even though your eyes don’t. If the glass bobble doesn’t light up, the remote is broken. If it does, the receiving device (装置) is broken.

54. If your cell phone falls into a sink, you can _________.

A. warm it up under your arm B. put it into the uncooked rice

C. press it with both of your hands D. remove the battery after you dry it

55. Why can a phone be used to prove the TV remote control works well?

A. Because it can receive infrared ray

B. Because it can reflect infrared rays

C. Because it can improve the TV remote control

More and more interviews are being done via the Internet by way of your webcam(网络摄像头) and they are growing in popularity because they save employers both time and money. Yet, due to the unfamiliar aspects of interviewing virtually, these types of communications can be especially challenging for job-seekers. Here are some key tips that will help you prepare to present yourself at your best.

1. Make certain you are comfortable with the technology. Prepare and practice with an “interview friend” several times to find what you lack(缺乏) before your interview. You’ll want to become familiar with the various technical aspects of virtual interviews so that you can present yourself with confidence in the real interview.

2. Be sure your background is professional(专业的) and tidy. An untidy setting will give the impression that you’re disorganized and unprofessional. So be certain to have your computer set up in an area where the background is as businesslike as possible. Also, make sure that your selected area is free from any possible noise or interruptions.

3. Eye contact can be skillful. This requires practice because most people first focus on the activity being displayed on their own computer screens. It makes you look

inattentive. You’ll need to train yourself to stare at the camera. It’s helpful to think of yourself as a television reporter and recognize that the camera represents your audience.

4. Watch your body language. Besides eye contact, there are some extra challenges to one’s body language. Be careful not to raise your shoulders or put your head down over your computer screen. Remember to keep your body open, and try to make your gestures as natural as possible.

21. The interviews via the Internet are popular because ________.

A. they are fashionable and challenging.

24. What can be the best title for the text?

interview

B

If You Make a Mistake, Don’t Worry!

Yeah, you’ll want to forget about them, but mistakes can be useful. Making a mistake doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. In real life you have to grow and mature(成熟), and with that comes some growing pains.

You know you should have studied hard but you went out with some friends instead. You know you should have put the money into the bank for a rainy day instead of spending it on all kinds of things you didn’t need.

It’s the growing pains called mistakes that most people make when they are growing up. Face them. You are going to make them. Learn from them. All of the people you wish to copy, such as all the experts in your business field, have made mistakes. They’ll continue to make mistakes for all their successes.

One of the major differences between people like them and the vast majority of others is that they don’t let their mistakes stop them. Instead, they use their mistakes as learning tools.

At the very least, when you make a mistake, you’ll know what not to do. And you can help others by warning them of the mistakes you’ve made. Don’t let mistakes stop you B. The development of job interviews D. Some tips about winning a webcam C. Some tips for Internet interviewers

from doing anything. Learn from them, and don’t hide in a closet(衣橱). Face up to your mistakes now and you later will mature.

What mistakes are you making right now? Take a look at anything you might be doing wrong. Take a step back and evaluate(评估) your situation, and then fix whatever needs to be corrected. Then move forward.

Always remember your mistakes to remind yourself of what not to do for the future.

25. Why does the writer say mistakes can be useful?

A. Because you can get some growing pains.

B. Because experts also make mistakes.

C. Because you can mature by facing and learning from mistakes.

D. Because next time you know that money shouldn’t be wasted.

26. Which statement is true according to the writer?

A. Before you make any mistake, you had better lock the closet in your room.

B. Keep your mistakes in mind in order not to make the same mistakes again in the future.

C. Don’t go out with some of your friends any more.

D. Forget your mistakes and move forward.

27. When we make any mistake next time, we should do the followings except ________.

A. think about the reason why we make the mistake

B. try to correct the mistake

C. tell others not to make the same mistake as you do

D. be too careful to do anything

28. From the text, we can infer that _________.

A. facing mistakes, some people lose heart

B. mistakes can be useful to all of us

C. mistakes can be called sufferings

D. we should put away money in case it is raining

I get up at 6:00 am as usual. After getting up, I use a machine in my kitchen to get my breakfast ready. It takes about five minutes. After breakfast, I put my dishes into another machine, which will clean them for me while I’m away at work.

I get dressed and leave. My destination is ten miles in the distance and I’ve got twenty-five minutes, which is plenty of time. I get into my most expensive machine. It allows me to sit in a comfortable chair while it runs at surprising speeds. Just like my home, I can make it any temperature I wish inside.

In the office, I do what a corporation asks me to, for most of my daylight hours. It’s not that difficult.

I go home in the same way. I make dinner for myself and eat. Then I turn on one of my favorite machines, which is about size of a book. It has a glowing(发光的) window inside it. It’s a single page. But I only need one page because its contents change at my

command(命令). Sometimes there are words, sometimes photographs, and sometimes both. There’s more in that book than I could ever read. It provides me with unbelievable advantages. I can find out anything I don’t know in a few seconds. I can gain complete histories of almost any person or culture you could name, expert opinions on anything, unlimited advice, and unlimited information. I can buy everything from where I’m sitting, and have it brought to my door.

The sun went down hours ago, but with my artificial light I haven’t noticed it. When I get tired, I close my favorite machine and go to bed. I’m warm and safe, like every night, though it’s 10℃ below zero outside.

Similar to humans, produce(农产品) comes in different shapes and sizes. Yet, chances are that you have probably never met an ugly-looking carrot or an apple at your local stores or farmers’ markets. That’s because any fruit or vegetable that looks different from what is considered “normal” will be thrown away.

Experts say that six billion pounds or about twenty percent of all produce grown in the US ends up either in landfills(垃圾填埋地) or as animal feed every year. Now Ben Chesler, Ben Simon and Ron Clark want to change that with their “Imperfect”. The Oakland-based company plans to buy the so-called ugly produce from farmers and sell it through a supermarket chain they recently signed a deal with.

Chesler and Simon believe that once people realize that “ugly” fruit and vegetables taste as good as the “beautiful” produce supermarkets sell, they will accept them. The company, which is working with farmers in California, plans to start selling the produce to people in Oakland and Berkeley. If all goes well, Imperfect will extend(扩大) the service to other California cities and then hopefully, to other states as well.

In addition to preventing waste, Imperfect’s idea will also cause additional income C. doesn’t worry about being late at all B. he is in a very nice bed. C. he can make it warm inside. D. the artificial light keeps him warm.

Think of life as a game in which you are playing with five balls in the air. You name them work, family, health, friends and spirit and you keep all of them in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce( 反弹 )back.

But the other four balls, family, health, friends and spirit, are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be broken. They will never be the same. You must understand that and try to have balance in your life. How?

Don’t look down on your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because 4

we are different and each of us is special.

Don’t let other people set goals for you. Only you know what is best to yourself. Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don’t be afraid of difficulties. Be brave!Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going.

Don’t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is a treasure you can always carry easily. Don’t use time or words carelessly. You can’t get them back. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, and today is a gift; that’s why we call it “the present”. Life is not a competition, but a trip, step by step.
